“He knew that there was no quick comfort for emotions like those. They were deeper and they did not need to be told. They were felt.”
― Lois Lowry, The Giver
Leonard Bernstein called music cosmos in chaos. True art, I believe, is like this— calling us to be more fully human, in all its dust and beauty. It is deeply honest stories that bring us to this level that I am passionate about bringing to life.
Originally from the small southeast Connecticut beach town of Niantic, I studied film, history and creative writing at Brandeis University just outside of Boston. After graduating in 2015, I worked various jobs and internships between Boston and New York City where I had the privilege of reading and reviewing scripts, writing copy for pitch decks and marketing materials, working on set as a Production Assistant (PA), and filming and editing freelance wedding videography, amongst other office administration jobs and duties. While at 4th Row Films in New York City, I worked closely with director Doug Tirola to research and develop script outlines for the documentary films Bloodroot (2019) and Bernstein's Wall (Tribeca, 2021).
In 2019 I moved with my husband to Los Angeles and worked for a little over three years (through the Pandemic!) as a PA, Executive Assistant, and eventually Original Programming Coordinator at Herzog & Co., a non-fiction production company based in North Hollywood, CA. I supported the company CEO, SVP, and Original Programming Development team with gathering research and archival footage for project pitch materials, in addition to handling all day-to-day scheduling and administrative needs. I created and maintain tracking grids for multiple ongoing projects, including Marvel's MPower (Disney+, 2023) and the Emmy-nominated series Watergate: Blueprint for a Scandal (CNN Films, 2022). I loved getting to bring together my strong organization skills with my passion for social change through art, while working closely with a dynamic, creative team.
Now that I am back in the Boston area, I am excited to continue to grow as a storyteller, using my skills and training to shed light on social and environmental justice issues, as well as what it means to be truly human in this beautiful cosmos in chaos we call life.
